The students are Popi from Cyprus (she eats a diet based on meat, rice, fruit and vegetables, she hates street food and never eats sweets) , Mike from Ireland (he is an athletic rugby player and loves to eat a lot and try new dishes), Fabio from Italy (Fabio likes Italian food, especially pasta and pizza and he loves Mediterranean cuisine based on fish), Margot from France (she loves sushi and Japanese culture, she doesn 't like meat.), Jonas from Germany (he is a little overweight due to his slow metabolism, so he needs to follow a special diet) and Manuel from Portugal (he loves to run, he is lactose intolerant so he has to be very careful about what he eats).

After a few hours at the residence, the group decide to go to the supermarket to buy some food for the week. When they arrive they have to decide if they will shop individually, together or share certain products.

One problem is their different cultural eating habits. Some of them prefer to shop individually and plan their meals according to their personal tastes, others think that shopping together is a good way to save money, share recipes and learn about the culture of each country. Other problems are their personal tastes, intolerance to some food products, or their belief that shopping together can be complicated. When they go into the supermarket, they decide to split up and look at the products on the shelves to decide how to best organize their shopping.
